No need to jump the gun. I didn't ask it at a personal level, in case you didn't understand it! Instead of nitpicking on a single statement, read the whole paragraph! It has been mentioned earlier in the post that since this amendment has the status of "lie on the table" it will never be considered. Does anyone know (those who have been folowing the immigration debates for last couple of yrs or generally congerssional procedures ) that this amendment is already dead or have there been cases where such "lie on the table" amendments are reconsiderd for voting

We will not achive anything by this. Please do not post any name IMHO. Yes we have issues but nothing can be resolved by getting angry. All such posts are only going to aleinate those who are looking for a meanigful excahnge. Why get into mudslinging. When some one like 'logiclife' is expressing didain then he has full right to do so after having given so much to this cause. Let us all be the antidote to this issue by keep the process of encouraging/informing/inviting our friends/collegues after such experiences. Impatience will not get us anywhere. I did not go to DC because i did not want to get the green card this way.I grew upwatching aunts,uncles coming from USA bearing gifts.I grew up watching cousins go for USA for higher studies.It used to be so special. Now its become so cheap. Now you guys have literally taken it to the streets. There's no difference between those illegal immigrants and us. This H1visa has ruined it for really smart students who come here on F1 with full scholarship.
This software industry and these cheap bodyshopping companies made it nothing more than a whore business.
My heart is broken. I dont care anymore.thats why i did not come to DC.
i'm not in software either and i have the equivalent of a doctorate and another masters and multiple specialty certifications. if you feel this way you do...you are venting your frustration about body shoppers on us- fine. your prerogative. but why are you here at all? this organization exists to end retrogression. who is "you"? as far as i can see you signed up to be a member.
by going to DC i felt like i did something to get attention to the problem. the resolution will come from congress not us. it is our right to petition, and we did. if we do not create awareness, nobody will help- with retrogression or with exploitative body shoppers. please direct your bitterness where it belongs- not on those who try to help.
each person here is a member and if they participate they do it for themselves. you too are here and lurk around reading the forums for yourself. there is vested interest in it, so maybe you are no better?
we did not cheapen green cards, you are cheapening us, people like you who are struggling through the process and in the process you cheapen yourself too. if you do not want your green card like this, it's simple, do not lurk around here.

iv has grown and prospered. we have a seat in this discussion. we are talking directly to congress, the administration and uscis. does that guarantee success? nope. but you and me, we sure as hell tried and will always have that with us. and it sure is a great feeling...:cool:

Are we/employees really supposed to know all the steps involved in the approval of GC process (Perm, 140/EAD/485 etc.)?
I work for one of the fortune 100 companies, to my surprise, none of my European colleagues is aware of all the GC process. All they do is just provide documents what ever the HR department asks for. They don�t pay from their pocket for GC (ideally correct). None of them has clue about priority date etc�.they get communicated by the HR department about their GC process.
So putting your case in perspective. I am assuming that the HR department would just hand over the GC to the employee. Neither the HR (I think) nor the employee (definitely) would worry about the PD being current.
Ideally if a law firm is point of contact for a petition, what would they do? Would they go back to USCIS and tell them that the GC is approved by mistake? I don�t think so but some one can confirm if they had experience otherwise.

Me and my wife had each sent a letter on Feb 10 to the President and the IV PO Box. I did not see my id in the names of peeps who sent a letter.
Just posting here to make sure you guys got the copies I sent you.

Glad you asked. Green card means, the ability to award as many greens and reds to anyone on IV. This ability increases as one gets closer to permanent resident status in US.

They may have some material education.
But Indian guys working here are third class fellows.
Arrogant, low tendencies, flase values etc.
They don't even mix with other Indians and think they are in Heaven or some thing.Don't worry if they loose their GCc.
These guys are unworthy of gettings GCs.
