I'm really hoping they'll catch up and we won't have to wait 4 months. My 6th year H1 is expiring this December and I need to get the I-140 approved so I can get H1 extension.
You dont need a approved 140 for filing H1 extension for 7th year.. Only advantage with approved 140 is you will get 3 yr extension instead of 1.
All you need for H1 extension for 7th year is that a labor cert be filed at starting of 6th year.

we are not talking anything new nixstor, there are people already waiting for years to get name check done......dont think if you pretend like nothing is happened will get a GC within a year....even though we might still stuck for years in the name of name check
May be you are right. I am pretending like nothing has happened. But Those folks who are adding spin to the issue on security checks, are you focusing in any way on the root cause of the problem. My point is, If you bring security on, every thing else is shelved until security is fixed. If its already there, let it be there. Let AILA figure out in the law suit how they approved. Let Rep Lofgren do it. Why should we stir up the hornet's nest on digg and open doors to anti guys to tighten security checks on us. Its like we are going out there and saying that "yes, My buddy got GC in 6 months. The security system is not working. Please fix it " What will be the result?

She also made a statement that she will try for more benefits for permanent residents.
She does not want to support only the people who are in the process of immigration???
Whats up with that.
May be she is afraid of Lou Dobbs...Recently he has been criticizing her for her Indian ties
or may be she is pro Rich Indian Americans ... this might sound ridiculous but her voting ney is crazy

I have been interviewing for couple of companies ...the first question they ask is ...Are you US citizen 2nd question r u Permanent resident ..no..

There was a guy in our office who used to complain about Chineese and Indians stealing jobs...Believe he is a big slacker ..he recently got fired...people like him form these programmers guilds.
We do not work for less and we are not paid less...may be they deduct our Gc expenses but not much

Time to vote on major efforts that do help the community really and she votes 'no' obviously its her nature to double talk and some talk show hosts have rightly identified that and drill her on that. I think its time we showed to the clintons and all those who failed us this time that our community does count and we are going to make it felt.

It will show you "Last Updated Date". Soft LUD means status of case is not changed but they updated LUD, virtually means they touched your file.

How it be a decade, when your PD is 2001 or later? Even for EB-2, the wait time is 4-5 years.
Your letter should be based on facts and not on emotions (that, usually, tends to cloud the good judgment)

Yesterday I contributed $300 and I hope I do better than that today, but I need help from all those people who have never contributed. So please pull the trigger. Hi All,
I want to know if my 19 year old son can be affected by aging out.
I have just received ALC certification and will now file I140 and I485 concurrently as my priority date NOV 22 2004 EB3 Rest of World will be current in June.
Can someone who understands the aging out rules tell me if my son may have a problem?

From what I understand many 485 applications(not all)received in accordance to the June bulletin MAY have been preassigned a visa number(from the leftover 60,000 visas) NOT an approval.

Although they are not supposed to pre assign numbers without name checks etc, is'nt it obvious that they might have done that??. They have a lot of cases to approve until Sept 30(from that 60,000 number)
no its not obvious. They have a big backlog of 485s still, and that 60,000 visa numbers can be used up without them having to assign some of those numbers to June 07 filers. See the ombudsmans report for details. If anything, they'll keep some of those visa numbers for people who have been in namecheck long enough, and are expected to get out soon.

Its not a rumor. This is real. Coming to think abt it, he had filed a labor in 2000/2001 time period and had abandoned it when he switched companies. I am wondering if USCIS takes the oldest one an applicant had ever filed.
