My attorney told me that it takes around a month to get ported (may be he is just saying in general). As I mentioned earlier My I-140 (EB2 one) shows EB3 priority date. I hope something will happen in a month or two.

Wow, there you go! How come it becomes not 'stupid' when a girl spends husband's money to support her parents?
This, effectively, means that if the girl stops earning for any reason such as pregnancy or is unable to earn, she immediately forfeits the right to send money to her parents. This is the most illogical statement I have ever heard.
And it also means that for any reason, if a girl remains a house wife, she has no right to send any money to the parents like you, as the earning member, do.
This is the very strange attitude that may get a marriage in trouble.
Why shouldn't a husband send money to his parents from his earnings? The husband and wife can talk about it and based on circumstances take a decision.
BUT if the girl takes for granted her rights to spend for her parents from husband's earnings, then it becomes an issue!

If the girl is working and earning money, she has all the rights to spend the way she wants, including giving money to her parents. If she is not working, then help should be based only on humanitarian basis because we never know when one's financial situation changes. I can't understand how any girl can force her husband to spend for her parents and siblings especially when she is not earning.
True, but what i have seen in the past is that the women thinks whatever man earns is to run the family, pay for medical, schools, rent , bills and save for the future of the family and what girl earns is for jewlery dresses or her parents.

My priority date has been current for a year now, but are they processing it? No, because my receipt date is 08/28/2006 and they are only doing 08/07/2006 now (after going back one month in Texas).
Thats right....and currently they have at most 400 for each category to give from July 2nd...and might have already used them for adjudicating old PD's. So, only couple of hundred first comers on July 2nd may benefit if processed based on RD and after that...its a big messy backlog center. They will processed based on PD ONLY.

They had PhD CS also; my friend got PhD from there.
They also had something like a CS diploma (don't remember details). They had 10 (??) theoretically sound courses. Students in most US schools will not be able to handle these courses.
However, course content is not the only strength of US Education (all levels). Something else (which is hard to enumerate and quantify) happens outside the classes. But it does not happen to everyone: some are not receptive and others don't run into it!

There are those who are undecided or who cannot find enough energy/motivation to do something, and those people need motivation. You don't fall in that category. Obviously if a guy with PD 2002 or 2003 does not apply there is no way he can get the AOS approved.
But do you mean a guy with PD '2007 May' applies now and a guy with PD '2000 March' (for some unkown reason) applies in 'Oct 2007'. Assuming that the PD cut off date retrogressed to '2000 March' then the guy with '2007 May' PD but with RD '2007 July' would be in a better shape than a guy with '2000 March' PD but with RD '2007 Oct'.

What if out of all 10000 , 9999 don't have priority date current.Do you think they will still not look at the 1 in the pile which has a current PD.They will look at it , Even if it is number 10000 in the list.Actually there will be no pile because 9999 people won't even be in contention.

In your case you will get the percedence over the 2001 PD. His is PD is not curent at time of processing. If the cut off date is after 2002 which means both are cuurent then the later guy will take precedence since his RD is earlier than your's.

I need something which removes employer dependency with approved i140 until u file 485.
I hate working at the same employer just becasue my PD is not current. And by the time my PD becomes current, may be employer is not doing good, I am not happy at the job.... and I have to start from PERM again at new employer. Also if employer revokes i140, I loose the PD as well!!

we are not talking anything new nixstor, there are people already waiting for years to get name check done......dont think if you pretend like nothing is happened will get a GC within a year....even though we might still stuck for years in the name of name check
May be you are right. I am pretending like nothing has happened. But Those folks who are adding spin to the issue on security checks, are you focusing in any way on the root cause of the problem. My point is, If you bring security on, every thing else is shelved until security is fixed. If its already there, let it be there. Let AILA figure out in the law suit how they approved. Let Rep Lofgren do it. Why should we stir up the hornet's nest on digg and open doors to anti guys to tighten security checks on us. Its like we are going out there and saying that "yes, My buddy got GC in 6 months. The security system is not working. Please fix it " What will be the result?

what i dont get is..why are desis so stuck up abt GC... dont get frustrated...work the system and work with the system!
making statements like Mirage did in the beginning of this thread are pointless!!!
i think its all part of a well thought out conspiracy to:
1.) Keep the chicken in the cage: get those desis into the system and tie them up in some legal/bureaucratic loop for 10-15 yrs.. the taxes and the application fees we desis pay keeps the system running..
2.) These fixes that IV is trumpeting abt..is just chicken feed... nothing big will ever materialize...
teh fact is THEY dont want too many desis in US..THEy dont want US to become another UK..Great Britain se Great BritainSthan ban gaya!!!
so dont let the frustration get to you.. work with IV..join local chapters and stay positive!
